Evidence Collection. The Collection of evidence of crimes against Wildlife and Habitats is a task requiring alot of resources and facilitation of team in the remote corners of the world.
Investigations of Crimes. Is another major task, requiring a lot of financial resources. Reports of crimes have t be varified and further investigated, before evidence can be presented for legal action.
Country officesIn collaboration with other conservationists and Wildlife organizations we would like to establish an office in every country where crimes against wildlife and habitats are reported to coordinate our activities on the ground.
Expertise in house. Our long term goal is to have the neccessary scientific, investigatory and Legal expertise readily availible to take on the challenges from local, governmental and mostly multinational perpetrators.
Even were there is availible evidence, Its very difficult to take any actions, because of fear for repurcussions from corrupt officials or Governement or simply due to the fact that there are no funds to prosecute these perpetrators, most of which unfortunately have un limited resources to either bride their way out of court or simply influence the judicial system. Because our organization is independent of local politics, we have the rare and unique opportunity to ensure a non biased approach to action against the perpetration of these crimes.
Lobbying- The UN & ILC Efforts to create the mandate for action, coupled with the formulation of legally binding and enforcable international wildlife and habitat laws, require alot of resources.
Lobbying the EU, NAFTA, ASEANand other regional bodies to create regional laws protecting wildlife and habitats also require alot of resources and personel.
We would also like to collaborate with local wildlife authorities and organizations .To create the neccessary concenssus for the protection and conservation of wildlife and also to be able to exert the neccessary pressure to ensure that agreements are followed. The task before us is huge, but we can only confidently achieve the objectives with your involvement and support of our efforts.
